What Would Be The Easiest Way To Start Up A Carpet Cleaning Business?

I would like to start up a carpet cleaning small business within my area. I would carry on working doing what I’m doing anyway, but try to build the business up slowly, around the hours that I work. I don’t really have any capital. I was thinking down the lines of renting the machinery on a monthlly basis.
any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thankyou

I applaud anyone who has the guts to attempt to do something on his own. Regardless of the type of business, It is always better to be your own boss.
Your time and energy is your capital. Renting your equipment, will enable you to write-off your expense for using that equipment. Having a full time job, will help you to take care of your personal financial needs, while you build your business. I suggest, that you advertise, letting your clients know that you are available for “evening hour” appointments, and on weekends. A lot of full time business like your’s do not work after hours or on weekends. Make yourself available at times that is convienient for your client. Most households have both husband and wife having to work outside the home, so providing this client time will help your business. A caution, in that you will be working inside homes, I recommend liability/damage insurance, because today’s population is suit prone. Be prepaired, something will break when you get near it, or maybe even get damaged when exposed to your cleaning chemicals. Always be prepared for the worst, because it will happen. In other words, “cover your ___s”
I think you are doomed to failure.
a) you are under-capitalized
b) when the going gets tough, you have a job to fall back on and you’ll be tempted to toss in the towel.
If you are serious, consider part-time work for a carpet cleaning company and see how you like it and if you are any good at it.
