Does anyone know how much it would cost for carpet + installation for 450 square feet (hallway, 3 bedrooms)??
I have a few quotes, all around 700+ … seems a little high for me. Any help, tips, suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

We Are Selling Our House And Are Having An Open House??

We really need to sell our house because we are in one of those stupid adjustable rate mortgages and our payment is schedule to go up in January. Once it goes up I doubt we will be able to keep making our house payment, it is already $1,500.
We are having an open house on Sunday and I don’t know what else to do to make the house look more appealing. I’ve already got rid of the clutter by renting a storage unit. I’ve staged a little but I’m not very creative. It’s a 5 bedroom 2 bath but the basement is getting a $2,000 carpet allowance because we have not carpeted it yet and that’s where 2 of the rooms are. The house is 2,600 square feet including the basement. Has an irragation system. We are asking $229,000.
Another issue is the builder has 7 brand new houses down the road for sale also and he has a 5 bedroom 2 bath, 2,040 square feet for $184,000. So we have some competition with that house but ours is almost 600 square feet bigger.
Anyway, how do i sell quick?

Has anyone ever used Empire Today or Home Depot for new carpet installation? If so, why or why wouldn’t you recommend using them? I’m looking into getting new carpeting for my living room. It’s about 240 square feet, and I’m not planning to get anything “fancy.” What about Home Depot or a similar service?

Average Cost Of Carpet Installation?

We are recarpeting two rooms in our house, each has a small closet. Total square footage is about 300 square feet. I’m wondering what the average cost of installation is, specifically in the Puget Sound area. Do they generally charge by square foot? Or per hour? I have tried calling and everyone says we have to have a salesman come over for a quote, which I don’t want if possible.
It would be over a pad, cut pile, normal carpet. We will be removing the old carpet, so that’s not of concern.

Does anybody know a cheap carpeting place around PIttsburgh to buy carpeting? or a contractor that is cheap? I need around 1000 square feet for an appartment. The old stuff is damaged & removed allready. I didn’t realize how expensive carpeting at the chain stores is. The cheapest I found so far was cheap berber at lowes for $0.56 a square foot.
