The Ultimate Vacuum Question.?

So… Ideal question. Probably the most debated vacuum brand.
The Dyson.
I got hardwood, carpet (little shaggy type) and one dog that leaves bits and pieces of herself all over the place… (fur!!!).
I’ve been researching tons, Hoover, Dyson, Bissell, even the little Roomba things (neat concept, but not ideal for “all in one”). Leaning towards canister vacuums for low maintenance.
The Dyson really appeals to me, but after spending some time looking around, the sales rep advised that certain Dysons can hurt the longer types of carpet. The only Dyson available that has the option for thicker carpet as well as hardwood was the animal model which costs $699.99, where the DC 25 I had my eye on was $599.99.
1) Is it true that different Dyson models can wreck carpet over time.
2) Are Dyson’s over rated?
3) What is YOUR recommendation of a good vacuum for hardwood AND carpet?

Why Are Peeple So Mean And Hateful And Always Want Things Their Way?

I own a flooring business, and the way people act is blowing my mind. I do not make the carpet in my warehouse, but they think I do. We sold a droped product and the sales rep for that product told me to go **** myself, why is that its your responsibility to make sure the rack is up to date. Now that is my fault. People always want things THEIR way and want it right now. Look at what happening overseas…..Do you think they get it their way?? NO!!!! I just dont understand the way people are thinking now.. You would think that 911 would make people realize the severity of the situation. Nope it has made it worse.. People gripe about everything. Nothing pleases, nothing makes them happy.. Everybody is rude, and just out for themselves… Look around we have it easy. Move overseas and then lets see. WAKE UP!!!!
I need some answers and people in general need GOD!!!!!!!!!

What Is A Good, Powerful Vacuum To Buy? What Is The Cost On It?

Our vacuum cleaner doesn’t work anymore and we looking at some at Wal Mart, and I can’t decide….. We recently were a little surprised by an in-home sales demo on a Kirby vacuum cleaner. It was an unexpected visit, and it was no surprise how much dirt and hair got pulled up out of the 10 feet of carpet the guy vaccumed. We were shocked at the astronimical price of $1995.00 for the stupid thing, and even more shocked when the sales rep “negotiated” the price down to a mere $700.
Anyway, we didn’t buy it, and sent the guy packing. I’m not paying that much for a vacuum. But, it did work – and it worked well.
We have a 1 dog, 3 cats, and 3 ferrets, in addition to a bird, and horse barn-dirt that contributes to what ends up in our carpet, so I would like something as powerful of a cleaner (or close to) without the unreal price tag of a Kirby.
Some of the vaccuums by hoover at wal mart were around $200 – what would be a good vacuum for my needs??

I Just Saw A Kirby Vacume, I Had A New Dyson. Have You Seen The Demo?

A sales rep came in and showed me heaps of stuff, out of my bed, carpet and lounge, then he showed me the diffrences between my dyson and the kirby. Its was amazing to see the $1200.00AUS dyson upright get slamed by a Kirby, but then again the kirby was $3000.00AUS….. Has anybody else seen this happen and what do you think?

Has Anyone Ever Had Any Problems With Pushy Car Salespeople While Test-driving A Car?

I see this car I want to test-drive, but I’m reluctant to go to the dealership because I’m just not in the mood to deal with a sales rep. haggling with me like a Turkish carpet salesman.
I was thinking about renting a car of similar make and model instead (through Zipcar), rather than have to put up with the dealer.
