I Need Help About Buying My First Home From A Builder?

We put a contract on a house and will be closing on it next week. The builder excepted our offer and agreed to put a hardwood floor down in the foyer where we requested it. It was previously carpet and we didn’t want to track dirt in from the front door or garage door there. After that they said they would need a deposit for the flooring so that they would not lose any money if we backed out of the contract. They stated that the deposit would be given back at closing. Okay, so we get an addendum to the contract yesterday. Our original offer was $161,500 and that would include them installing the hardwood in the foyer. They excepted that offer. Now the addendum to the contract states the new sales price as $162400 to account for the $900 deposit I sent in to secure the floors. In the addendum states, they will credit our money back at closing. But, something is not adding up to me. The new sales price is S162,402. Okay, if they refund my $900 at closing. Doesn’t that mean that I would have to put that $900 that I paid out of my pocket back on the loan to get the sales price back to $161,502? So, really am I paying for the hardwood floors in the end?

Yesterday I answered a knock on the door, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.
“Good morning,” said the young man. “If I could take a couple ofminutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners.”
“Go away!” I said. “I haven’t got any money!”, “I’m broke!” and proceeded to close the door.
Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed wide open.
“Don’t be too hasty!” he said. “Not until you have atleast seen my demonstration.”
And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto my hallway carpet.
“If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horsemanure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder.” I stepped back and said,
“Well I hope you’ve got a f**cking good appetite, because they cut off my electricity this morning. What part of broke do you not understand?”

“F*ck off!” said the old lady. “I haven’t got any money” and she tried to close the door. Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed it wide open.
“Don’t be too hasty!” he said. “Not until you have at least seen my demonstration.” And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse **** all over her hallway carpet. “If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse **** from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder.”
“Well,” she said, “I hope you’ve got a f*cking good appetite, because the electricity was cut off this morning.”

What Are You Allowed To Take When Your Home Is Foreclosed On? Carpet? Cabinnets? I Did, Now I’m Getting Sued..

December 9, 2009 by

My house was foreclosed on recently, and I owned the house until I moved out. Until then I decided to take all the cabinets, carpet, everything. I’ve heard countless people did this, and I found no information that this was not allowed. Since the home is in MY name, I kinda think that I have a right to my property. Someone bought my home at a foreclosure sale, and I was supposed to recieve the difference from the sale. (difference of what I mortgaged the home fore, and what the home was bought on auction for.)
Well, for a while I didn’t get any answer when I would recieve the money. So I went to the court house and filed an official request to the judge to recieve that money.
Then just recently I got a letter saying that the people who bought my home on the foreclosure sale are suing me for property damage. Oddly they filed the suet on the same day as when I filed the request to the judge.
What can I do? I know that what I took was MY property that I BOUGHT.
Any help?
thnx
