Is It The Slow Time Of The Year For A Carpet Cleaning Business?

December 27, 2009 by

We own a small carpet & upholstery cleaning business, and it seems like its slowed down for the past 3 weeks since New Years. Is this a sign that we are not doing something right or is there a down turn at the begining of the year?
Thank you so much.

three things there matey you need warm air to dry carpets and the windows open is even better gee maybe it being 40 below has something to do with it? or (see I said three things didn’t I?) it could be that property taxes are coming up and third people want to pay down the credit card afforded Christmas. People aren’t even moving in and out of apartments right now!

I am not sure where you live but if you live in Australia a lot of people go away at this time. If you live somewhere where it is winter a lot of people prefer to wait until summer so the carpet dries faster after it is cleaned. Also, no matter where you live a lot of people have over spent at Christmas and still need some time to recover. So even if they do need their carpets cleaned they need to wait to save some money.

In the North it is. This is a messy time of year, snow and slush. We do not think of getting carpets clean till the thaw
Try running a special for winter.
