There is no need to tip, unless someone is doing you a favor and getting you a cut-rate price. There is not enough information here to know. Lets say you are going to tip anyway…how many people are installing? Probably 3 to 4 depending on your home size. $500 install is about 1500 square feet of carpet. Give them each $10 or $15. That is probably enough to let them know you appreciate the hard work but not enough to seem like chump change.
Gosh you’re nice…I didn’t think you had to tip.
offer them some water ..thats all
I’ve never tipped movers, installers or repairmen. I do usually have cold bottled water or soda around and show my appreciation that way. I think their compensation (in the US) assumes that they won’t be tipped.
unless he worked your ‘carpet’ you don’t tip rug installers. Trust me, we make plenty.
20 bucks if they did a good job…
$20.00
Based Upon 10% $50.00
15% $75.00
18% $90.00
20% $100.00
i dont tip them
I had no idea that people recieve tip for carpet installations. Out here in the west coast we don’t tip the contractors they charge way too much as is. But very nice of you to do this.
