Has Anyone Ever Had Any Problems With Pushy Car Salespeople While Test-driving A Car?

I see this car I want to test-drive, but I’m reluctant to go to the dealership because I’m just not in the mood to deal with a sales rep. haggling with me like a Turkish carpet salesman.
I was thinking about renting a car of similar make and model instead (through Zipcar), rather than have to put up with the dealer.

Can One Side Step The Car Dealers In Their Area To Buy A New Car?

Would like to buy a new vehicle without the hassel of dealing with competing sales people and dealerships that want to deliver sting as well as burn.
Buying a new vehicle should be an enjoyable experience. They should throw out the red carpet and really try to please. Instead, they try to soak you for every dime they can get. Here you are buying a brand new vehicle with dealer warranty and they want you to buy all that other maintenance crap which you don’t want which will raise your payments up and beyond and a myriad of other crap you don’t want. They totally ruin the fun and joy and insult your intelligence to rub salt into the wound. They are the greediest most ungrateful bunch of people and are only thinking about how to serve themselves and not the customer. Where can one get online and find the car they want and purchase without all the hassels of dealing with the dysfunctional situation at the dealerships in their area? Enough already. Sick to death with dealerships!

I’m restoring a ‘69 mach 1 with factory red interior. I know that mach 1s with black interior have the large red/orange rubber inserts in the carpet for the heels on all four floor sections. Does the red interior carpet have the same thing? Or is it plain all over? I’m from Australia, so it is near impossible to find an original one in person, and after looking on the net and in sales brochures etc for new parts i’m still none the wiser. (all i can find is black interior pictures) Has anyone owned a mach 1 with red interior that was original? i don’t like those heel pads at all, but if they came as original in the red interior i’ll have to give it some thought as to wether i should use it, or go plain.
