We have just bought a fairly large 3 (double) bedroomed house. We got a quote yesterday for a carpet for the lounge through dining room, the hallway, stairs, landing and 3 bedrooms. The carpet costs £15.99 a square metre in the sale and also included in is the best underlay they do, some gripper rods which are needed for the lounge and dining room and a couple of the doorways, delivery and fitting. The cost was £2600 but they said they would do it for £2500. Do you think I can get them down a bit more? or do you think thats a fair price? Many thanks.

I would get more quotes from other installers. If someone comes in cheaper (but has the same quality and features) use them, Or use those quotes to get the original one to come down. Most times they won’t haggle. But if they feel you’ll use someone else, that seems to loosen the pocketbook some.
where the hell are u going for quotes like that??!! carpets 4 less did my 3 bed house, diningroom/lounge, hallway and stairs including adhesieve grippers and rods and fitting labour for around £700!! we knocked them down from the original quote of £900…….i say go for it or go some where else, they mugging u!!
